Valentine’s Day 2018

When people ask me what my favorite holiday is, I always say “Christmas.”

And it’s true; the Christmas season is full of such warmth and beauty, it’s hard not to vote it the holiday favorite.

But if I’m going to be honest, Valentine’s Day is such a close second, it might as well be tied for first.

And no, not for the lovey dovey stuff. I’ve actually never really enjoyed a Valentine’s Day in that sense — all that pressure makes it tough to enjoy the event itself.

No, I love Valentine’s Day for, well, for the colors.

Yep, I said it. My obsession with blush and Millennial pink is rewarded one month out of every year, when the world is doused in pink, red, glitter, and gold.

Valentine’s Day 2018

This year, I put together a little something for my girlfriends. It’s so hard to be original anymore, what with the advent of Pinterest, so when a punny little saying popped into my head, I knew I had to take advantage of it.

I put together these fun little VDay gift bags for each of my neighbors. I added galentine stickers and tattoos, glittery shades, candy treats, enamel pins, and a tiny jar of Nutella. Attached to the jar, I added the tag, “I’m gon-Nutella you something: I love you.”

You can grab a printable of this fun tag to use for your own galentines here!

Not gonna lie, I was pretty proud of myself 😉

Then, we dressed Little Man in his new favorite Sawyer tee and let him play around with his Valentine’s Day candy and books.

I think he loves the holiday almost as much as his mommy does.

Almost.

A VDay to Remember!

This year, you can celebrate the holiday in style – or make a gal pal’s momma dreams come true! My friend Meredith and I are hosting a Valentine’s Day giveaway with some of the most amazing brands: Bath & Body Works, Newlie bags, Freshly Picked moccasins, Nuby meal mats, and, my personal favorite, Sawyer children’s clothes.

No matter how you celebrate it, VDay is a chance to get all of the pink out of your system — or at least some of it, since, c’mon, there’s a lot of pink in there. It can be about the special someone in your life, or the special someones in your life. Whether it’s a spouse or your kids or your neighborhood gal pals, this year celebrate the people in your life whom you love the most.

Happy VDay, everyone! Check out the Catcher in the Rye Photography Instagram account for details on the giveaway!

xoxo
