This week, Philadelphia has been doused in green in anticipation of Super Bowl LII, played later today.
Philly knows how to celebrate its sports teams – but it’s especially devoted when it comes to its football.
This year, we’re celebrating the Green with more umph than ever before. My sister and dad travelled to Minneapolis to partake in the fanfare. Meanwhile, back in Utah, we’re working on some traditions of our own.
Little man is obsessed with “boh ball,” so we’re excited to get him in on the action.
Super Bowl LII – Fly Eagles Fly!
For today’s game, we’ve got homemade cheese steaks, Eagles Green treats, and all the Eagles gear we could find in Utah. Also, penalty flag napkins — for wiping up stains or yelling at the screen.
And, of course, no party these days would be complete without a plate of delicious and perfectly executed cookies from the Sugar House Bakery.
Although they’ve been to the Super Bowl twice, this would be the first time in history the Iggles have won the hallowed event. They’re one of only 13 NFL franchises to have never won the game.
They first appeared in 1981 against the Oakland Raiders, and then again in 2006 against – you guessed it – the Pats.
Having shown up to eight in the past 20 years, it’d be the Patriots’ SIXTH Super Bowl win. I mean, c’mon.
I’d say it’s our turn.
As all of Philly is saying this week,…
“From Wentz we came; in Foles we trust.”
